Soonchun University signed a business agreement with LowCarbon, a company specializing in reducing carbon dioxide, on the 9th to realize carbon neutrality.

The two organizations agreed to develop local industries based on CCUS (carbon capture, utilization, and storage technology) technology and fine dust reduction technology to realize carbon neutrality and foster talented people.

Suncheon National University President Ko Young-jin, Planning Minister Chung Yong-hwa, Engineering School President Cho Byung-rok, Chemical Engineering Department President Chung Min-chul, and LowCarbon CEO Lee Chul attended the signing ceremony held at the university headquarters.

Through the agreement, the two organizations promised joint research on fine dust reduction systems such as △ pretreatment desulfurizers, joint research to revitalize industry-academic cooperation in energy fields such as clean hydrogen production and storage △ optimization of carbon dioxide processes.

Low Carbon is advocating an “environmental vaccine company” with pre-combustion desulfurization technology and is emerging as a promising company in the carbon neutral field, including obtaining a new technology certification (NET) from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy this year.

Soonchun University President Ko Young-jin said, “With this agreement, Soonchun University will try to provide practical support measures such as supporting research personnel to companies and create new momentum for regional and national economic development.”
