LowCarbon Co., Ltd. (https://www.lowcarbon.co.kr, hereinafter referred to as “the website”), for the purpose of protecting the personal information of individual information subjects in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act and processing related grievances in a rapid and smooth manner, hereby establish and disclose the following Personal Information Processing Policy.
This Personal Information Processing Policy shall enter into effect from March 1, 2023.

  • Article 1 (Purpose of processing personal information)

    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. (https://www.lowcarbon.co.kr, hereinafter referred to as “the website”) processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than the following, and if the purpose of use is changed, necessary measures will be taken, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

    Personal information shall be processed for the purpose of verifying the identity of the complainant, confirming complaints, contacting and notifying the complainant for fact-finding, and notifying the complainant of the processing results.

  • Article 2 (Processing and retention period of personal information)

LowCarbon Co., Ltd. processes and retains personal information within the period of retention and use of personal information stipulated by the law or within the period of retention and use of personal information agreed upon when collecting personal information from the information subject.

    2. The respective periods of personal information processing and retention for specific categories are as follows.

    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. handles the following items of personal information.

  • Article 4 (Procedure and method of personal information disposal)  

    1. LowCarbon Co., Ltd. disposes of personal information without delay as soon as the personal information becomes unnecessary, such as when the personal information retention period has expired or the purpose of processing the information has been achieved.  

    2. In cases where the personal information must be retained in accordance with other laws and regulations even after the personal information retention period to which the information subject consented has elapsed or the purpose of processing the information has been achieved, the personal information shall be moved to a separate database (DB) or a different storage location for retention.

    3. The procedure and method of disposing of personal information are as follows.

    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. selects personal information for which there is reason for disposal and disposes of the personal information with the approval of the person designated to be in charge of personal information protection at LowCarbon Co., Ltd.

    ② Disposal method
    Information in the form of electronic files shall be disposed using a technical method that prevents the record from being recovered.

  • Article 5 (Rights and obligations of data subjects and their legal representatives and matters regarding the method of exercising the said rights and obligations)

    1. The information subject may exercise the right to view, correct, delete, or request suspension of processing of personal information at any time with respect to LowCarbon Co., Ltd.

    2. The exercise of rights pursuant to Paragraph 1 can be done in writing or by e-mail, fax, etc. in accordance with Article 41, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act and LowCarbon Co., Ltd. shall take responsive action without delay.  

    3. The exercise of rights pursuant to Paragraph 1 can be done through an agent, such as a legal representative or designated delegate of the information subject. In this case, the individual information subject must submit a power of attorney using Form No. 11 provided in the Public Notice of Personal Information Processing Methods (Public Notice No. 2020-7).

    4. The rights of the information subject may be restricted in accordance with Article 35 Paragraph 4 and Article 37 Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act when requesting access to and suspension of processing of personal information.

    5. Requests for correction and deletion of personal information cannot be accepted if the personal information is specified as the subject of collection by other laws and regulations. 

    6. LowCarbon Co., Ltd. shall verify whether the individual who made a request regarding processing of personal information, such as request for access, correction or deletion, or suspension is the individual information subject or a legitimate agent representing the individual.

    7. LowCarbon Co., Ltd. may designate a delegate (management company or agency, etc.) according to its Personal Information Processing Policy.

    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. performs the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

    1. Minimization and training of staff handling personal information  
    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. implements measures to securely manage personal information by designating employees who handle personal information and limiting information access to the assigned staff.

    2. Technical measures against hacking, etc.
    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. (“LowCarbon Co., Ltd. Website”) installs security programs to prevent leakage and damage of personal information caused by hacking or computer viruses, and periodically updates and inspects these programs. The system is installed in a restricted zone secured by technological and physical monitoring and blocking.

    3. Access control to restrict unauthorized persons
    LowCarbon Co., Ltd. designates a separate physical storage location for personal information and establishes and operates access control procedures to secure this location.

  • Article 7 (Matters concerning the installation and operation of devices that automatically collect personal information and rejection thereof)

    1. LowCarbon Co., Ltd. uses “cookies” which store and retrieve usage information as needed to provide personalized services to users.

    2. Cookies refer to a small amount of information that the server (http) used to run the website sends to the user's computer browser and is sometimes stored on the hard disk of the user's PC.

    A. Purpose of the use of cookies: Cookies are used to provide optimized information to users by identifying the types of visits and use of each service and website visited by the user, popular search words, security access, etc.
    B. Installation, operation and rejection of Cookies: The user can refuse the saving of cookies by setting the user’s options in the menu tab [Tools > Internet Options > Personal Information] located at the top of the web browser.
    C. When an individual user rejects the saving of cookies, the user may consequently experience difficulties accessing customized services on the website.

This designated person is responsible for overall handling of personal information processing, for the handling of complaints and damage compensation of information subjects related to personal information processing.

The information subject may submit inquiries about all matters pertaining to personal information protection, complaint handling, damage compensation, etc. that occurred while using the service (or business) of LowCarbon Co., Ltd. to the person and division in charge of personal information protection. LowCarbon Co., Ltd. shall respond and process inquiries from information subjects without delay.

  • Article 9 (Division which receives and processes requests to view personal information)

    The information subject may submit a request to view personal information in accordance with Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act to the following divisions. LowCarbon Co., Ltd. shall make efforts to promptly process the personal information access request submitted by the information subject.

  • Article 10 (Method of remedy for infringement of the rights and interests of information subjects)

    The information subject can apply for dispute resolution or consultation to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee and the Personal Information Infringement Reporting Center of the Korea Internet & Security Agency to receive a remedy for personal information infringement. In addition, please contact the following organizations for reporting or consultations regarding other issues of personal information infringement.

    A person whose rights or interests have been infringed upon due to a disposition or omission by a head of a public institution in response to requests submitted under the provisions of Article 35 (Inspection of Personal Information), Article 36 (Correction or Deletion of Personal Information), and Article 37 (Suspension, etc. from Managing Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act may request an administrative appeal in accordance with the Administrative Appeals Act.

  • Article 11 (Changes to the Personal Information Processing Policy)

    This Personal Information Processing Policy shall enter into effect from March 1, 2023.
