[INews24 Reporter Cho Seok-geun] LowCarbon, an environmental vaccine company, announced on the 30th that it has been selected as an excellent technology company in 2021 as a result of the Technology Credit Assessment (TCB) of Korean company data.

“Certification of a company with excellent technology competency” is a comprehensive analysis of the overall technology, rights, marketability, and business feasibility of a company by evaluating the economic value of the company’s technology and classifying it into grades or scores.

Carbon dioxide, which was collected by LowCarbon as a technology for collecting and utilizing carbon dioxide, reacts with a conversion catalyst mixed with water and is converted to liquid sodium carbonate and sodium carbonate. Carbon dioxide storage technology (CCS) using this technology has the advantage of being easy to store and move, easy to convert to other functional materials, and being applied CCU at the same time, making it very economical.

Carbon dioxide conversion materials stored in liquids can be used for various purposes depending on technology development, raising expectations for the resourceization of carbon dioxide. LowCarbon announced through a demonstration that it is developing a simultaneous carbon dioxide-sulfur oxide reduction system in connection with the previously developed sulfur oxide reduction technology.

“We have started designing to optimize carbon dioxide capture scrubbers,” CEO Lee Chul said. “We will recruit the best experts as chief technology officer (CTO) and open research institutes and offices in Seoul and Daejeon.” CEO Lee expressed confidence, saying, “If optimization technology is developed, we will make progress in solving the global climate crisis.”

“We are proud that this technology has been developed in Jeollanam-do Province,” said Yoon Byung-tae, vice governor of political affairs in Jeollanam-do Province, who watched the carbon reduction test. “We will apply this technology to carry out test beds and actively support technology advancement.”
